So, our September Prayer Focus is based upon some Bible teaching in Acts 2v 42-47 which tells us about life in the Early Church. It focuses on 4 activities the early Christians were encouraged to do which form the basis for our own modern-day church life. The passage speaks of the early followers being devoted to the apostles teaching,  fellowship, breaking of bread and to prayer.

Week 1: 6th September | Prayer

We’ll begin with Prayer. Pray about the church family, the work of the church, and volunteer to pray for one of the roads around the church to pray for. I would encourage you to prayer with someone this week as the early followers devoted themselves to praying together.

Week 2: 13th September | Teaching

We will consider being devoted to teaching. Consider your attendance at a GC group, do some private study, listen to podcasts and have daily devotional time.

Week 3: 20th September | Community

The third week is based on community. That is being with the church as a family. Pray into those difficult relationships you have, pray for God to give you an open and soft heart towards others in the fellowship.

Week 4: 27th September | Outreach and Welcome

In the fourth week we will consider connections so v 47 adding to our numbers daily. Pray about outreach and being a welcoming church. Pray about your willingness to connect with others and be involved in church life.

Again, this is a great month for journalling your prayer requests and returning to it in future months to add the answers God has given.
